THE WRITER’S ROOM: An online advanced playwriting workshop
Ready to go deeper?
The Writer’s Room is designed for playwrights with prior writing experience who are looking for sustained feedback, deeper revision, and a dedicated creative community. Through weekly writing prompts, conversations, and focused critique sessions, participants will continue developing an existing play or generate substantial new material.
With constant practice and refinement of the skills learned in our Writing for the Stage workshop, this class functions as a true writer’s room. Each week, 1-2 writers will receive concentrated attention and supportive, craft-based feedback on their work from the group.
Participants should expect:
Generative exercises & warmups
Ongoing writing and revision
Thoughtful peer feedback in a supportive creative environment
Open to writers who have completed Writing for the Stage, or who have prior playwriting experience.
Mondays: June 8, 15, 22, & 29, 7–9 pm (EST)

WRITING FOR THE STAGE
This four-week online playwriting workshop is designed for adults and writers 16+ with beginning/ intermediate levels of experience.
Together we’ll focus on core elements of dramatic writing, including plot, character, dialogue, and scene structure through weekly prompts, discussion, and guided feedback. By the end of the course, participants will have a complete short play or significant progress on a larger work.
Whether you're starting from scratch or developing an idea that’s been waiting in the wings, this workshop offers a welcoming space to experiment, write, and grow.

The workshops will be led by Dori A. Robinson, an award winning Boston-based playwright, director, educator, and podcaster.
Dori has worked with such companies as the Huntington Theatre Company, Shakespeare Theatre Company, The Hanover Conservatory, The Barnstormers Theatre, Speakeasy Theatre, Alight Theatre Guild, and Jewish Arts Collective, and she has collaborated with FoodTank on storytelling initiatives at the intersection of labor rights community. A committed educator, Dori has taught at Brandeis University, Northeastern University, and American Repertory Theatre.
